Stainless Steel Reducing Tee

S&S Stainless International manufactures high-performance stainless steel reducing tees engineered to connect a smaller branch line directly to a main run line without requiring extra pipe fittings. By combining branch connection and line reduction into a single fitting, our reducing tees streamline piping layouts, lower total welding costs, and maintain optimal pressure control. Produced in premium ASTM A403 304/304L and 316/316L stainless steel grades to ANSI/ASME B16.9 and MSS SP-43 standards, these butt-weld fittings offer exceptional structural strength, leak-tight integrity, and long-term corrosion resistance for oil and gas, chemical processing, power generation, and heavy industrial piping systems worldwide.

What is Reducing Tee?

The stainless steel reducing tee is a high-quality stainless steel pipe fitting designed to connect three sections of piping, with one branch smaller in size to regulate flow or pressure. This stainless steel reducing tee is ideal for systems where a transition between different pipe sizes is required, allowing for controlled fluid or gas distribution across various branches. Manufactured from premium stainless steel, our stainless reducing tees offer exceptional corrosion resistance, strength, and durability, ensuring reliable performance in even the most demanding industrial environments.

Produced to meet international standards like ASME, ASTM, JIS, and DIN, our stainless steel reducing tees are used in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, water treatment, and power generation.

FAQs

1. What manufacturing processes are used to produce seamless and welded reducing tees?

Seamless reducing tees are produced using hydraulic cold bulging or hot extrusion from seamless stainless steel pipe, ensuring a smooth transition between the main run and smaller branch outlet. For larger diameter pipe sizes or heavy wall schedules, reducing tees are manufactured by press-forming stainless steel plate followed by 100% full-penetration longitudinal seam welding per ANSI/ASME B16.9 specifications.

Every production lot undergoes 100% Positive Material Identification (PMI) chemical testing and full solution annealing heat treatment to eliminate forming stress and restore corrosion resistance. Our quality inspectors measure 90-degree branch alignment, center-to-end dimensions on both run and branch outlets, and check wall thickness using ultrasonic thickness meters. Complete EN 10204 3.1 Material Test Reports (MTRs) are provided, and we support Third-Party Inspection (TPI) by SGS, BV, or TÜV.

Standard manufacturing lead time is 30 to 45 days after order confirmation and technical drawing approval. We offer flexible MOQs for standard sizes in dual-certified 304/304L and 316/316L material grades, allowing international procurement teams to combine reducing tees, equal tees, elbows, and reducers in a single container order to optimize freight costs.

All three beveled ends (both run ends and the smaller branch outlet) are fitted with protective plastic caps to prevent edge chipping or deformation. Small to medium-sized tees are packed in ISPM-15 heat-treated, seaworthy wooden cases lined with waterproof plastic barriers. Large-diameter reducing tees are securely steel-strapped into heavy-duty wooden crates or onto pallets with protective cushioning.

We accommodate a full range of international trade terms including EXW, FOB (Taiwan/China ports), CFR, CIF, and DDP. Cargo can be shipped via ocean freight as Full Container Load (FCL) or Less than Container Load (LCL). For urgent plant shutdown projects or prototype testing, express air freight shipping is also available.
